„Pītagi” lies in the village of Košrags, Kurzeme region, Latvia. It is situated within the boundaries of Slītere National Park, 800 metres from the Baltic Sea. Košrags is a Liiv fishermen village with its own cultural history and magical charm where you can enjoy peace and tranquility and rest from the big city bustle. You can walk by the seaside or along the nature trails, as well as observe the birds and wild animals.
There are four 2-4 bed bedrooms, a kitchenette, a living room with a fireplace and a sauna in the big holiday home. Since 2011 we have got also three smaller family holiday cottages with all the conveniences.
There are six cosy camp-houses, a site for tents and trailers, and a service building with showers and toilets in the camping.
The holiday home, the holiday cottages and the camping together can accommodate up to 50 persons. It is also possible to rent a separate room in the holiday home.
Besides taking a romantic walk along the seaside or through the forest paths of Slītere National Park, you may rent a bicycle and take the bike path to the nearby Mazirbe (5 km) or a bit further Kolka (20 km). You may get there through the wood, along the forest road, or take the more comfortable (but less scenic) paved road. The most active ones can do the whole route Slītere circle (50 km).
And, yes: we rent bikes!
Additional ideas for outdoor activities can be found following the link Slītere National Park.
„Pītagi”, thanks to your support and our energy, is in the process of continuous development and improvement already for six years. We continue working hard in order to raise your comfort level and provide new services all the time: this summer we have finished new holiday cottages.
Being in a continuous improvement process, we would be thankful for any feedback: what you did and did not like in the real and the virtual „Pītagi”; what would you recommend to do differently; what could be improved.
Thanks a lot,
Team „Pītagi”: Signe, Jānis, Valērijs, Arc
The village of Koshrags is a traditional Liiv fishermen village developed at the end of XIX century and the beginning of XX century. The village is a monument of cultural heritage of national significance.
In the nearby Mazirbe (5 km from Košrags) visit the church of Mazirbe, the national house of Liivs, the Liivs’ ethnographic collection „Rāndali”, boat cemetery.
On a sunny day it is easy to reach Mazirbe on foot along the road through the wood or along the sea. Or you can bike there through the wood or along the paved road as well.
First mentions of Kolka are already from XIV century. The nearby Cape Kolka – the most popular tourist attraction in all the Nothern Kurzeme – is the place where the Gulf of Rīga meets the open sea. This is the place where the sun both rises and sets above the sea in summer. Kolka lies 20km north of Košrags.
